Job description

BSEP Intern – Career Development Opportunity

Baystate Health is looking for BSEP Interns to gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional healthcare environment. This role is designed to support your growth, build workplace skills, and provide meaningful exposure to real-world operations while contributing to a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned duties as directed by your designated department, in collaboration with your supervisor and based on agreed-upon learning goals.
  • Participate in all required orientation sessions, training workshops, and professional development activities.
  • Follow all organizational policies, department procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain flexibility and readiness to take on additional responsibilities or related duties as assigned.

Program Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and actively participating in the BSEP Academy or BSEP 21st Century Afterschool Program.
  • Successful completion of required job skills training sessions (previous BSEP participants may be considered with manager approval).
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and build positive relationships with clients, staff, and peers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain productivity.
  • Exhibit strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, along with reliability and accountability.

Specialized Placement (if applicable)

For interns placed in a Nursing Unit as a Patient Care Technician:

  • Must hold a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Minimum of one month of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current Health Care Provider CPR Certification required.

Note: Some placements may have additional requirements that must be completed prior to the start date.

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
