Coordinates with clinical departments and IS staff to plan and implement new equipment and applications for Surgical Services. Reviews custom programming and enhancement requests from clinical departments to determine appropriate action. Collaborates with practitioners, administrators, educators, researchers, and vendors to transform data into information for quality patient care. Participates in the planning, design, testing, and implementation of clinical information systems. Develops reports to support process improvement, budget tracking, and procedural recommendations. Serves as a resource and role model for learning clinical information systems. Assists with charge issues related to supply pick list charges and performs OR chart documentation audits. Manages and reviews tissue tracking logs and maintains wasted implant deficit reports. Monitors and corrects anesthesia charge discrepancy audits and provides invoice coding. Reviews previous days' cases for warnings or errors and ensures accuracy and completeness of charges. Coordinates with nursing staff, materials management, and IT to resolve documentation issues and supply/implant charges. Assists with charge reconciliation reports and maintains daily, monthly, and yearly dashboard stats. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. [Required]
• Ability to use various instruments, machines, tools, equipment, applications such as word and excel, and other work aids as necessary to perform job duties. [Required]
• Understands and supports Corporate Clinical Information System Standards. [Required]
• Computer proficiency [Required]
• Previous management skills a plus [Preferred]
• Working knowledge of surgical services [Preferred]
Education:
• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• N/A
Work Experience:
• 3+ experience with information systems or related role and in an acute care hospital setting. [Required]
• 3+ hospital management experience [Preferred]
