Job description
We’re looking for compassionate and empathetic Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated team delivering end-of-life care across Glasgow. As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll work in pairs as well as on own at times, travelling to patients’ homes to provide hands-on personal and emotional support. No two homes are the same, and your sensitivity to each patient’s environment will be key.
You’ll assist with personal care, medication, and sometimes meal preparation—bringing comfort and dignity to those in their final days. This short-term, fast-paced service supports patients recently discharged from hospital or those nearing the end of life, including individuals with palliative need.
You’ll collaborate closely with district nurses, social care teams (HSCP), and hospice staff, and may be assigned to support a single patient or on occasions where you will be asked to support other teams within the Hospice. If you’re motivated by making a real impact and thrive in a role that blends clinical care with heartfelt connection, we’d love to hear from you. The team is being expanded to extend our care not just to patients but also as part of a new service supporting people with MND with an episode of respite care.
