A Brief Overview
The Supervisor, Nurse Family Partnership, works within the local community and lead agency structure to assure that the NFP Program is implemented in accordance with established guidelines and contract requirements. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Nurse Family Partnership program, including all staff and volunteers, customer services, program planning and development, budgeting, grant coordination, and regulatory compliance. Provides primary support and oversight to the Nurse Home Visitors. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
- Provides effective supervision to Nurse Home Visitors and Administrative Assistant to include hiring, orientation/training, discipline and evaluation.
- Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with hospital policy and granting organizations.
- Maintains accountability methods and data pertinent to the successful operation of Nurse Family Partnership.
- Participates in and supports community collaborations.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Required - Bachelor's Degree Nursing
- Preferred - Master's Degree Nursing
Work Experience Requirements
- Required - Administrative 1-3 years
- Required - Lead, Supervisory, or Management 1-3 years
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
- Required - Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
- Preferred - Registered Nurse Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing
- Preferred - Registered Nurse Arkansas - Arkansas State Board of Nursing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in public/community health, including home visitation and/or provided maternal/child health services, particularly in community setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of human learning theory and understanding of dynamics of child development.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, communities, and organizations.
- Capable of utilizing appropriate judgement regarding instructional and supervisory issues.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and act independently in carrying out responsibilities of the position.
- Ability to cooperate with other staff members and maintain good working relationships with all disciplines.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- Supervises the Nursing Home Visitors and Administrative Assistants.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
