Overview
Join our team as an In-Region Audio System Engineer, where you'll be instrumental in bridging design and manufacturing for cutting-edge wearable products. Your role will involve addressing complex engineering challenges, resolving manufacturing issues, and ensuring top-notch audio performance throughout the wearables product development lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive success from design to the final product.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering builds at contract manufacturers and FATP to ensure audio performance meets design specifications; resolve any issues to ensure quality delivery.
- Conduct thorough audio failure analysis, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to address any identified issues.
- Perform primary verification of audio performance through subjective evaluations and objective test setups, utilizing laboratory resources effectively.
- Collaborate with test engineers and equipment suppliers to develop, support, and enhance audio test station functionalities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in delivering consumer audio products, demonstrating expertise in audio electronics.
- Deep understanding of audio and acoustic concepts such as Frequency Response, THD, SNR, Beamforming, and ANC.
- Proven experience with contract manufacturers, JDM, and ODM operations, along with excellent diagnostic and analytical skills.
- Proficient in utilizing audio and acoustic test and measurement tools for product evaluation and factory testing.
- Skilled in writing and troubleshooting Soundcheck sequences.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working across disciplines to drive optimal solutions.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing mobile or IoT audio devices.
- Expertise in physical acoustics and transducer design, including familiarity with acoustic simulation tools.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, FEA, and the application of advanced materials.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages for signal processing or test script development.
- Background in handling high-volume production and familiarity with Six Sigma project tools.
- Experience in audio speech quality testing and optimization using tools like B&K or ACQUA.
