Job description

Do you have a deep appreciation for beautiful, high‑quality China? Are you someone with strong product knowledge, confidence in handling stock, and a proactive approach to customer service?

We are looking for a dedicated China Specialist to join our Ground Floor team. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who loves exceptional service and thrives in a stock‑heavy, detail‑oriented environment.

This is a full‑time role of 37 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday.

If you enjoy working with high-end products, supporting customers, and maintaining impeccable standards, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

As a China Specialist, you will play a key role in creating an inviting, inspiring experience for our customers. You’ll use your strong product knowledge to guide customers through our china and tabletop collections, offering thoughtful recommendations, design insights, and practical advice. Your passion for beautiful, high‑quality merchandise will shine through in every interaction as you help customers make confident, informed decisions.

Because this is a heavily stock‑focused role, you will also be responsible for maintaining excellent department standards. This includes unpacking and organising stock, managing daily replenishment, supporting merchandising displays, and ensuring strong inventory accuracy. The role involves lifting cartons and moving pallets, so physical capability is essential. You’ll also work closely with suppliers and internal teams, communicating clearly to support smooth operations and uphold our service standards.

Successful Candidate Attributes

  • Previous retail experience required; homewares experience is an advantage
  • Genuine passion for beautiful China, design, and quality merchandise
  • Strong physical capability — able to lift, move, and unpack heavy stock and pallets
  • Excellent organisation and high accuracy with inventory
  • Confident communicator, including when dealing with suppliers
  • Proactive, enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to delivering outstanding service
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to stay focused in a busy environment

Applications close 20th April 2026.

Please note, we will be interviewing candidates during the application period so this role may close earlier than the end date.

Applicants must have current eligibility to work in New Zealand.
