The Team

The Finance and Accounting team at Gladly is small, high-performing, and operates well above its weight class. The team reports into the CFO and works as a true strategic partner across the organization, not a back-office function. The culture is high-autonomy, high-trust, and action-oriented. There are no layers, no committees, and no waiting around for approval.

You will report to the Director of Accounting and work closely with Finance and People Operations. This role is based in Colombia and works directly with the US-based team on a daily basis.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an accountant to own the day-to-day operations of our general ledger. You will manage cash application, code vendor invoices, prepare journal entries, run balance sheet reconciliations, and drive the monthly close. You will also partner on bi-weekly payroll and own AR/collections end to end. This is hands-on, high-ownership work across the full accounting function, not a narrow specialty role.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, accuracy, and managing multiple deadlines independently. You are not a cog in a large accounting team. You are a critical contributor who keeps the financial engine running, and you are doing it at a company that is actively exploring how AI can transform accounting operations.

What You'll Do

General Ledger and Close

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy throughout the month
  • Own the month-end close process as the primary executor, with your manager serving as reviewer
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
  • Deliver monthly flux analysis on expense accounts to ensure financial statement accuracy

Accounts Payable and Cash Management

  • Process and code all vendor invoices, routing for approval and setting up new vendors in accordance with contracts
  • Manage cash application across multiple bank accounts, recording all inflows and outflows in NetSuite
  • Oversee corporate credit card programs including employee setup, limits, and receipt compliance
  • Manage employee expense reimbursements, including coding and proper processing

Accounts Receivable and Collections

  • Own the AR/collections process end to end: upload invoices to customer portals, send dunning notices, and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment
  • Maintain clean AR aging records and communicate proactively with internal stakeholders on collection status

Payroll and Compliance

  • Partner on end-to-end semi-monthly domestic payroll processing and monthly international payroll, including deduction setup and management
  • Serve as a reliable payroll partner, reducing the single point of failure and functioning as a team with your manager to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate and manage requests from external audit and sales tax providers

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience. High-growth startup or SaaS experience is a plus, but strong fundamentals in any industry work here. Accounting is accounting.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger management
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (required). Familiarity with Ramp, Navan, Brex, Carta, or Deel is a plus.
  • Experience with payroll processing (ADP or similar) and multi-state or international payroll
  • Based in Colombia with the ability to work US business hours or with significant overlap
  • English proficiency at C1-C2 level (business fluent). This role requires daily written and verbal communication with US-based teams, auditors, and vendors.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines independently. Payroll, AP, AR, and close all hit at different cadences, and you need to stay on top of all of them.
  • A self-starter who can be trained on a process and then own it. You do not need someone looking over your shoulder.
  • Familiarity with sales tax compliance tools is a plus
  • Curiosity about how AI and automation can improve accounting operations.

Salary for this role: $25,000 - $50,000 USD annually (may be paid in COL pesos depending on EOR/COR contract selection)

The cash compensation above includes base salary, and is not reflective of potential commission for employees in eligible roles, or annual bonus targets under Gladly's bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all Gladly employees are eligible to participate in Gladly's equity incentive plan to receive stock options per the terms of the agreement. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their career level, skills, experience, specific geographic location qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Why Join Gladly?
