Job description

You join the Applications team, an experienced, informal and enthusiastic scrum team of 6 developers. The team is responsible for the development of highly scalable, flexible and responsive front end applications that are used on many high traffic international websites. Our Olympic widgets reached more than 300 million hits in 2 weeks on the NBC Olympic website.
 

The products that the Applications team develop and support include: 

  • Team sports Application: An Angular-based tool with Java as the backend and MS SQL as the database. This is used by the Content Team to input various sports data like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, etc in various formats as required by our clients. 

  • Supporting Applications: This includes the Sports Entity Management, Global Sports Data Explorer, QC Dashboard and others all of which manage various aspects of our comprehensive sports data.
     

  • Examples of projects you will be working on in the next year:

  • Onboarding new sports like Ice hockey and others on the Low level Coverage and High Level Coverage match action page in Teamsports.

  • Onboarding League and other important entities on Sports Entity Management.

  • Creation of a more robust queuing mechanism on the front-end by use of Indexed DB, AWS SQS and creating load tests to ensure stability and smooth performance.

 

We are:

  • A multinational company, with clients like FIFA, NOS, NBC, IOC, Eurosport, NU.nl, and many more

  • Working in an Agile and Scrum development environment

Working with state of the art techniques (Angular, Java, MS SQL, React, Node.js, AWS Lambda e.g.)

The ideal candidate:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Angular

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a programmer

  • Experience with ES6, AWS, CICD pipelines, 

  • Write unit tested code, playwright regression code as part of standard coding practices

  • Energetic team player

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Good communication skills and able to share his/her knowledge with the team.

  • Good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.

  • B.E / B.Tech / BCA/ MCA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

Furthermore, it is an advantage if you:

  • Have experience with Java, MS SQL and Playwright

  • Have experience with API’s, JSON(P) and XML
