Department Intro
The Environmental Engineering Intern will join Micron’s environmental team, supporting site-wide environmental compliance and sustainability efforts. The team works closely with internal stakeholders and external organizations to ensure Micron facilities meet state, federal, and local environmental regulations.
Position Overview
This internship supports subject matter experts in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental programs and procedures. The role contributes directly to critical compliance programs and includes a defined summer focus project that will be presented at the end of the internship.
Responsibilities
  • Assist subject matter experts in developing, implementing, and improving environmental compliance programs and procedures.
  • Support facility-wide compliance efforts related to hazardous waste, air and water permits, stormwater management, bulk chemical and petroleum storage, and natural resources monitoring.
  • Collaborate with operational and construction teams to achieve environmental compliance and sustainability objectives.
  • Prepare compliance reports, quantify environmental impacts, support field work, and participate in regulatory inspections.
  • Represent Micron professionally when working with internal teams and external regulatory or partner organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student for the Fall 2026 academic year pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or a related environmental program.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental compliance and regulatory programs.
  • Ability to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during the summer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or familiarity with Power BI or Microsoft Access.
  • Exposure to environmental compliance areas such as air, water, stormwater, hazardous waste, or natural resources.
  • Experience supporting inspections, audits, or regulatory reporting activities

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$31.15 - $37.38 an hour

Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
