Description:

Position Purpose

Trinity Health Of New England has an amazing opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician to support the Greater Hartford Family Advocacy Center.

The Mental Health Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. This position seeks to reduce trauma symptoms in individuals who have survived various traumatic experiences, increase areas of resiliency and support in their lives, teach effective coping skills, and increase overall level of daily functioning.

What you will do

  • Provides direct clinical services and delivers individual, group, and/or family therapy
  • Maintains expertise in assessment and treatment of trauma and evidence-based trauma practices.
  • Identifies and communicates with appropriate community resources for clients when program resources are not adequate. 
  • Facilitates support groups 
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of clinical encounters. 
  • Maintains clinical records on each client. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters in psychology, social work, or counseling
  • Preferred: Current Connecticut LMSW licensure or; Currently license-eligible and able to obtain LMSW licensure within six months of hire.
  • Three to five years in working with adults and children prefered
  • Training and experience in evidence-based trauma treatment models for adults/children 
  • Training and experience in individual and family therapy
