Software Quality Engineer Intern (Brno office, Czech Republic)

The Red Hat Quality Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated student who can join us in the Brno office and who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products. In this role you will work as a Software Quality Engineer with the Networking Firewall team, making sure the RedHat products meet the highest quality level.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is July 1st.

What you will do:

• Participate in team Sprint ceremonies, deliver expected results.

• Work on the QE work of firewall components(firewalld, nftables, iptables, ipset) which includes running testcases, reporting/verifying bugs, development new testcases or updating existing testcases.

• Engage in team discussions about tech or process improvements.

What you will bring:

• You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.

• Working knowledge of written and spoken English

• Good knowledge of Software development or quality assurance

• Project experience with any programming language like C, Python, shell scripting, etc

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of Linux or software development under Linux environment is a plus

• Knowledge of AI is a plus

• Knowledge of Scrum is a plus
