CNC Programmer – Sheet Metal Manufacturing

Title: CNC Programmer – Sheet Metal Manufacturing Location: Newport News, VA Shift: First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) Schedule: Monday – Friday, with overtime availability Pay: $25 – $40/hour (higher compensation based on skills, experience, and background) About the Company We are an established precision sheet metal manufacturer with more than 40 years of industry experience, operating out of a modern 60,000 sq. ft. facility. As a family-owned business, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, precision-built sheet metal products on schedule. Our team produces a wide range of components and complex enclosures, supporting diverse customer applications in a fast-paced production environment. Position Overview The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate CNC programs and up-to-date file revisions for customer parts. This role includes interpreting engineering drawings, creating flat pattern layouts, collaborating with engineering teams, and reverse engineering components to support manufacturing. The position also involves selecting the appropriate machines, tooling, and materials to ensure efficient and cost-effective production, while preparing detailed work instructions and setup documentation. CAD/CAM software will be used to improve programming efficiency and reduce cycle times.
