    Job Description

This full-time faculty position includes comprehensive pediatric audiologic care across outpatient and inpatient settings. The Audiologist will primarily practice at our new Summerville, SC location, and at the R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion in North Charleston, SC.

Clinical Responsibilities include:

Pediatric diagnostic audiologic evaluations for children 0-20 years, including infant hearing follow up screenings, sleep ABRs and sedated ABRs

Pediatric amplification selection, fitting, and management

Pediatric osseointegrated device evaluation and programming

Pediatric inpatient and outpatient diagnostic testing in coordination with ENT physician appointments

MUSC Audiology Clinical Services Include:

Behavioral audiometric assessments for all ages

Acoustic immittance

Site-of-lesion and threshold ABR

TEOAE/DPOAE

Comprehensive vestibular testing (VNG, Rotary Chair, Posturography, VEMP, vHIT)

Hearing aids

Cochlear implant and implantable hearing device programming

Academic & Research Expectations

As a faculty member within an academic medical center, the Audiologist will:

Supervise 4th-year Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) students

Provide instruction to Otolaryngology residents and interns

Deliver lectures to residents and house staff as assigned

Participate in Audiology seminars and departmental conferences

Contribute to or collaborate in ongoing clinical research

An interest in clinical research and academic growth is highly valued.

Qualifications

Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited institution

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A)

South Carolina Audiology Licensure (or eligibility)

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
