Job Description Summary
The QA Document Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all technical, regulatory, and quality related documentation is accurately controlled, compliant, and readily accessible in accordance with nuclear industry standards.In this position, you will play a key role in supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations by maintaining robust document control processes across engineering, project delivery, and regulatory interfaces. The position interfaces with multiple internal and external stakeholders to support safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The position will initially focus on advanced reactor new build projects.
Job Description
This role supports disciplined configuration control by ensuring controlled documents and records are properly reviewed, approved, issued, revised, distributed, and archived in accordance with regulatory, quality, and procedural requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Establish, maintain, and manage document control systems in line with nuclear regulatory, quality, and company requirements
Control the lifecycle of documents, including creation, review, approval, distribution, revision, archival, and retrieval
Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear standards (e.g., 10 CFR 50 Part B, ISO 9001, regulatory authority requirements)
Maintain records retention, storage, and archival in compliance with NRC, NIRMA, and organizational requirements.
Interface with engineering, quality, sourcing and project teams to ensure documentation accuracy and traceability
Manage Buildsmart workflows to and from internal teams
Identify document control nonconformances and support corrective actions under the CAP (Corrective Action Program)
Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and assessments related to document control and records management.
Identify document control process gaps or inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
Provide guidance and coaching/training to stakeholders on document control process
Prepare document status reports, metrics, and document retrievals as requested by management or regulatory reviewers.
Maintain Nuclear Procedure Portal webpage as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, OR 5 years of experience in document or configuration management.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in document control or records management within nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
Strong understanding of document control principles, configuration management, and quality systems.
Eligibility Requirements
Ability to operate a computer for extended periods of time daily.
Desired Characteristics
Experience working with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
Familiarity with nuclear regulatory environments and safety culture expectations
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance
Strong communication skills and confidence working with multidisciplinary teams
Strong commitment to nuclear safety culture and quality excellence
Ability to challenge non-compliance constructively and professionally

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $75,400.00 and $113,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
