Job description
Role: Supply Chain & Customer Operations Manager
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)
Travel: Required (Domestic & International)
Compensation: $50,000 – $80,000 (Depending on experience)
About the Company
Our client is a thriving global manufacturing and supply chain partner specializing in consumer packaging and retail goods. Headquartered in the Bay Area with a rapidly expanding operations hub in Houston, they manage a sophisticated end-to-end network across Asia and North America. From sourcing raw materials to final distribution for retail giants, they pride themselves on long-standing factory partnerships and an entrepreneurial spirit that allows them to pivot quickly to new market opportunities.
About the Role
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role designed for an "A-player" professional who can bridge the gap between global operations and premier client relationships. You won't just be managing spreadsheets; you will be the primary point of contact for large-scale customer projects, ensuring that goods moving from factories in Taiwan, China, and Mexico arrive on time and meet the exact specifications of major U.S. retailers. This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys the customer-forward aspect of account management as much as the technical details of logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Project Management
- End-to-End Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of supply chain projects, from raw material sourcing in Asia to manufacturing and U.S. distribution.
- Global Coordination: Act as the central link between overseas factories, the Houston operations team, and the Bay Area leadership.
- Workflow Optimization: Analyze lead times, packaging conversions, and logistics costs to improve margins and operational efficiency.
Customer Coordination & Account Management
- Client Interface: Serve as the "Voice of the Company" for key accounts, providing real-time updates and resolving complex project hurdles.
- Commercial Support: Partner with sales leadership to manage inbound demand from large retail clients, ensuring high responsiveness and professional excellence.
- Relationship Building: Represent the company at client sites and meetings - domestic and international.
Vendor & Factory Relations
- International Collaboration: Maintain and troubleshoot relationships with manufacturing partners in China, Taiwan, and Mexico.
- Local Network Expansion: Support the growth of the local U.S. supplier network to diversify procurement
Must-have Qualifications
- Bilingual Mastery: 100% fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and verbal) is strictly required to communicate with overseas partners.
- Experience: 3–5+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing Coordination, or Project Management.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Spreadsheets for managing high-volume data and logistics tracking.
- Global Mobility: Ability and willingness to travel internationally (Asia, Mexico) and domestically (Bay Area, New Orleans) approximately every 2 months.
- Onsite Availability: Ability to work onsite daily at the Houston/Stafford facility.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
- ERP Proficiency: Previous experience using NetSuite or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
- Industry Background: Experience in consumer goods, paper/plastic packaging, or high-volume retail manufacturing.
- Visa Status: While this role is for a U.S. employee hire, the company is open to candidates seeking future green card sponsorship after a proven period of employment.
