Piping Welding QC Inspector
Job description
- Manage all piping and welding inspection activities at site/shop within EPC projects.
- Implement QA/QC activities at work site, including subcontractor works, in accordance with approved QCP / ITPs, procedures, and method statements.
- Review all material, welding, and testing-related deliverables.
- Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with Company HSE policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Attend stage-wise inspections, witness, and hold points as per approved ITP.
- Perform receiving inspections of project materials and review MTCs / MRBs.
- Witness WPS / PQR and welder qualifications; inspect weld joints and sign off related reports.
- Review test packs, verify compliance, and witness pressure and leak testing.
- Participate in daily progress meetings with EPC contractors and highlight any piping-related issues.
- Review and certify red mark-ups and final as-built drawings.
- Provide regular feedback to QA/QC Engineer on daily quality issues.
- Raise and follow up on NCRs, ensuring timely closure in line with project requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certification in AWS-CWI / CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 (mandatory).
- ASNT / PCN Certification in NDT Level II (RT, UT, MT, PT/LPT).
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a welding inspector in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on major EPC / pipeline / plant projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding inspection, and testing of valves (Ball, Globe, Gate, etc.).
