Logistics Manager
Salary
Job description
- Optimize routes and logistics schedules to reduce spoilage and ensure raw material freshness
- Collaborate with farm operations and outgrower networks to align supply with production demand
- Oversee warehousing, inventory management, and dispatch of finished cassava starch products
- Ensure efficient order fulfillment and on-time delivery to customers, distributors, and export channels
- Manage packaging, loading, and shipment processes in line with quality standards
- Manage company-owned and third-party transport fleets
- Monitor vehicle utilization, maintenance schedules, and fuel efficiency
- Implement cost-effective transport strategies and vendor management practices
- Establish and maintain efficient warehouse systems for raw materials and finished goods
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking, stock reconciliation, and reporting
- Minimize waste, shrinkage, and handling losses
- Drive logistics efficiency through data analysis, route optimization, and process improvements
- Implement Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve turnaround time
- Utilize ERP or logistics management systems for real-time tracking and reporting
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate logistics records, reports, and performance dashboards
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and finance teams for integrated planning
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field
- Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations within manufacturing or agro-processing
- Strong understanding of perishable goods logistics (experience in agriculture is an advantage)
- Experience with ERP systems and logistics tracking tools
- Proven ability to manage fleet operations, vendors, and warehouse systems
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Strong knowledge of HSE practices in industrial and logistics environments
- Familiarity with international standards such as ISO, HACCP, and GMP
- Commitment to safe handling, storage, and transportation of materials
- Ensure compliance with local and international transportation regulations
