Job description

We are seeking a Buyer with a strong understanding of mobile asset parts to support our operations and optimize procurement processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in the purchasing process, from needs assessment to payment, including order management, warehouse replenishment, supplier relations, and support for operational teams.

This is a 12-month contract to start with the possibility of becoming permanent afterwards.

What you are responsible for:

  • Ensure that established purchasing procedures are applied and respected;
  • Research new sources of supply to reduce costs and improve the quality of maintenance products and services;
  • Negotiate purchasing terms (price, deadlines, warranties, terms);
  • Prepare and analyze cost comparison reports;
  • Issue and manage purchase orders;
  • Follow up on orders with suppliers;
  • Prioritize orders and coordinate deliveries with suppliers;
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers;
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments (operations, finance);
  • Maintain relationships with internal clients;
  • Analyze and consolidate needs and vendors;
  • Actively participate in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Any other related tasks;

    To join our team:

    • Hold a college diploma (DEC) or equivalent combination of experience;
    • Have at least 5 years of experience in a purchasing department within a manufacturing company (experience in heavy mobile equipment parts is an asset);
    • Be fluent in spoken and written French and English to communicate with our various suppliers in Canada and the United States;
    • Be committed to quality;
    • Ability to communicate effectively with different teams and processes;
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
    • Be self-motivated and resourceful;
    • Knowledge of ERP systems (Maximo is an asset);
    • A valid driver's license is required due to regular travel to Montreal and Lévis, as well as to some suppliers.
