The Healthcare People Partner is an operational HR partner role providing expert people support across Asda’s Healthcare functions. The role exists to ensure safe, effective, and compliant people practices that enable Healthcare professionals to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Working closely with Divisional Healthcare Leaders, Practice Managers, and clinical colleagues, the PBP plays a critical role in workforce planning, regulatory compliance, employee relations, wellbeing, engagement, and talent development. The role balances commercial awareness, people process and policy with a strong commitment to clinical governance. Creating a positive, high‑performing, and legally compliant working environment.

About you:

  • Act as a trusted people advisor to Healthcare leadership teams, providing pragmatic and commercially sound HR guidance.

  • Support workforce planning with the CLB team, and succession planning to ensure the right skills, capability, and capacity across Healthcare roles.

  • Translate people strategy into clear, operational actions that align with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Support effective onboarding processes for Healthcare colleagues, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

  • Provide governance and oversight of training, qualification tracking, and professional registrations.

  • Partner with Learning & Development and external providers to support capability building across Healthcare professions.

  • Support complex employee relations cases, including performance management, conduct, disciplinaries, grievances, and capability matters.

  • Coach leaders to manage performance confidently, fairly, and consistently.

  • Ensure ER cases are managed in line with employment law, internal policy, and clinical governance expectations.

  • Provide guidance on absence management, wellbeing initiatives, and use of Occupational Health and OHIO services.

  • Promote a proactive approach to colleague wellbeing, ensuring appropriate support mechanisms are in place for Healthcare teams.

  • Monitor trends and data to identify risks and drive improvement actions.

  • Support colleague engagement through Listening Groups, feedback mechanisms, and action planning.

  • Use insight and data to improve colleague experience and retention.
