The Opportunity
We have an exciting, newly created role for an Underwriting Assistant to work closely with our International Casualty and Property underwriting team based in Bermuda.
The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and timely administrative and technical support to the Underwriting team, ensuring exceptional customer service and resolution of enquiries from Brokers/partners.
The role involves assisting Underwriters with policy administration, underwriting new business and renewals within set guidelines and service standards, and contributing to the achievement of business objectives.

Your new role:
- Support the lifecycle of policies from new business, Mid Term Adjustments (MTAs), and renewals through to their cancellation or lapse, including managing credit control activities and ensuring timely closings are received within 30 days of inception.
- Assist with underwriting new business, MTAs, and renewals following Governance Underwriting Standards and Product rules.
- Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines, policy changes, and modifications.
- Provide underwriting and claims customer service support to intermediary and direct customers.
- Develop good working relationships and ensure timely communication with internal customers and stakeholders.
- Assist in identifying and implementing 'best practice' and process improvements to reduce expenses.
- Participate in internal and external meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
About you:
- Previous experience within an Underwriting Support role (min 3 years preferential)
- A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills; a true team player.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do.
