Are you a curious and driven student with a passion for cybersecurity and a fresh perspective on security frameworks? Pilot Company is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for the summer of 2026. This is a unique opportunity to directly contribute to our strategic goal of enhancing adaptive security frameworks and addressing emerging threats by advancing our zero trust initiatives.
In this role, you will be an integral part of our team, tackling key responsibilities that will help modernize our security posture and reinforce our defenses. Your fresh perspective will be key to helping us enhance established processes and support the adoption of new security strategies. By delegating research and analysis to you, our senior staff can focus on complex planning, allowing us to scale our security efforts more efficiently and strengthen our competitive position.
What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities may include:
- Strategic Support: Contribute to advancing zero trust initiatives across multiple cybersecurity disciplines.
- Process Improvement: Help enhance established processes and support the adoption of new security strategies.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to provide actionable insights for refining our adaptive security strategies.
- Security Testing: Assist with testing access control models, automating security workflows, and assessing threat detection tools.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies and advancements in threat detection to strengthen the team's technical capabilities.
- Education: We're looking for a student with a strong interest in cybersecurity.
- Technical Skills: While not a hard requirement, any experience with analytics, automation, or relevant security tools is a plus.
- Soft Skills: You must be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You should have strong problem-solving and collaboration skills and be open to feedback.
- Qualities: We value individuals who are driven, reliable, authentic, and welcoming.
This is a full-time, in-person internship in Knoxville, TN, running from June 1 through August 6, 2026.
The interview process for this position will include a screening with a recruiter and an additional interview with a leader from the cybersecurity team.
Our culture is built on four core virtues: Driven, Reliable, Authentic, and Welcoming. As an intern, you will see these values in action every day. You'll be part of a team that is driven to innovate, reliable in its commitment to our brand, authentic in its communication, and welcoming to new ideas and perspectives.
If you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding internship with a leading company, please submit your application. We look forward to hearing from you!
