Job description

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta's Indirect Procurement team is seeking an Indirect Procurement Business Partner in Madrid, Spain. This role will support the delivery of indirect procurement strategies and sourcing activities across all categories in Spain and Portugal, working closely with business leaders and Category Managers.

Accountabilities

  • Deploy Category and Sub-Category strategies in the country, ensuring savings and benefits are fully realised by aligning Procurement Business Partner and Category Management teams.
  • Act as the primary procurement contact for site and country management teams, ensuring awareness and active support of procurement policies, processes, and tools, while keeping Indirect Procurement informed of local challenges, opportunities, and priorities.
  • Design and execute tailored procurement solutions when business requirements fall outside existing channels or strategies - including sourcing events, supplier evaluation and selection, contracting, and ongoing contract management.
  • Manage the Ariba savings pipeline consistently and accurately to drive delivery against agreed targets, ensuring full compliance with relevant procurement policies and processes.
  • Promote Indirect Procurement achievements and deliver agreed savings within the country, with no adverse impact on quality or timeline requirements.
  • Degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an Indirect Procurement function across multiple categories.
  • Knowledge of Category Management approaches and techniques, with experience deploying category strategies in a business partner or country-facing role.
  • Experience with eSourcing tools and techniques; familiarity with SAP Ariba is an advantage.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and coordinate across teams without direct authority.
  • Experience leading procurement projects and contributing to the implementation of sourcing strategies in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Travel up +/- 10% within the territory will be required.
  • Full time role based in Madrid, Spain.

  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • #FutureOfWorkPolicy: 3 days at home, 2 at the office.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A role that contributes to valuable and impactful work in a stimulating and international environment.
  • Learning culture and a wide range of development options, including access to learning platforms (Degreed and LinkedIn Learning)
