Job description
This position focuses on Glaucoma Surgical with a secondary sub-focus on Interventional Glaucoma overseeing the design and delivery of clinical training for Field Account Consultants, FTCs, MSLs, National Accounts, and the Institutions teams.
This role requires up to 60% travel.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple brands and collaborate with marketing teams and field leaders to drive strategic results.
Align, design, and implement training programs that support key marketing, sales and business imperatives.
Oversee the accuracy and timely completion of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), ALC Attestations, and Franchise Annual Training Plan (FATP).
Lead and participate in the design, development, and implementation of innovative training programs; build and support the field training team’s expertise.
Train AbbVie product representatives to become product-specialized subject matter experts with exceptional competence and credibility.
Continuously assess and address training and development needs across all salesforce and product teams, including evaluating and providing feedback on training progress, clinical knowledge, and performance, and sharing insights with management and leadership.
Deliver clinical training to physicians in both private and institutional settings as needed, supporting and backing up AbbVie product representatives.
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex clinical cases, coordinating peer-to-peer expertise and ensuring timely, effective responses to customer requests for additional clinical support and guidance.
Partner with marketing, sales, Medical/Legal/Regulatory/Compliance teams, and external agencies to ensure training content is relevant, accurate, up-to-date, and fully approved.
Facilitate and deliver corporately sponsored training classes according to the annual training plans while contributing to improved training strategies.
Manage content, learning journeys, and program delivery within digital learning platforms, ensuring seamless access and continuity for all stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with training coordinators, administrators, and cross-functional departments to drive effective program management and implementation of specialized training materials.
Continuously assess and address the training and development needs of the salesforce, coordinating resources and actions for the long-term growth of the Eye Care team, supporting the vision of "One Eyecare and One AbbVie."
Leverage field sales expertise to cultivate relationships, gather actionable insights, and support sales training and marketing leadership in product positioning, competitive strategy, and communication effectiveness.
Bachelor's degree required
3 years of surgical experience preferred
5+ years pharmaceutical sales or directly related experience
Demonstrated strong clinical expertise in eye care, including deep knowledge of optometric and ophthalmic disease states and therapies.
Proven track record in project development, management, execution, and successful multitasking within complex, cross-functional environments
Experience facilitating impactful group conversations, training sessions, or workshops for diverse audiences.
Exceptional organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, and the ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously Time management, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills
