Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

In this role, you will take on multiple projects simultaneously, leading the design process, performing crucial calculations, and preparing contract drawings and specifications. You'll also oversee junior staff and ensure all work aligns with applicable codes and project requirements. Engage directly with clients in meetings and coordinate with contractors and vendors with minimal supervision.

Your responsibilities will include

• Designing complete low and medium voltage electrical systems, encompassing power distribution, emergency power systems, batteries, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Leading planning studies and preparing contract documents for detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates for intricate projects.
• Creating innovative lighting systems along with their control systems.
• Conducting load analysis throughout all phases of design.
• Producing detailed electrical system drawings for various projects.
• Drafting basis of design reports and technical specifications.
• Applying expertise in electrical engineering concepts, codes, and industry best practices.
• Specifying and selecting electrical equipment to meet project needs.
• Coordinating across various engineering disciplines and project architects from multiple locations.
• Managing diverse assignments concurrently.
• Collaborating closely with a Senior Electrical Engineer to ensure quality control and assurance of all engineering documents.
• Mentoring junior engineers to foster their professional growth.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive project management experience, showcasing an ability to independently manage multiple projects and oversee design and construction contracts.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication, with proficiency in documentation and presenting materials.
• Experience in client service and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Ability to quickly adapt to various project management and document control tools, primarily for project oversight and reporting.
• Exemplifying flexibility and responsiveness to changing project environments.
• Capability to make sound professional judgments and document decisions appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
• Familiarity with the construction industry, especially in the southeastern US.
• Exceptional written communication skills.
• Experience in managing consultants and contractors in oversight roles.
