Job description

A scribe will provide efficient and frictionless data entry and query to the EHR and affiliated/associated data repositories. d. All of these functions will be performed at the direction of a physician either in an asynchronous or synchronous fashion. a. For patients with external data sources, scribes will provide summarization of data, printed or digital, with sufficient instruction of what data to abstract and how to abstract it per the physician's instruction. f. Following of "if-then" instructions: a. Retrieval of affiliated/associated resources, for example, not to be inclusive. i. If a scribe has been instructed to access Visage and to retrieve scans of certain types from a certain time range in order to eliminate delays in care provision due to archiving and retrieval of scans, this will be appropriate. ii. If a scribe has been instructed to access the PDMP when a physician is prescribing a scheduled medication, this will be appropriate. iii. If a physician has preprepared text for assessments and plans, instructions, or communications that should be triggered when an action is dictated. iv. If a physician has pre-prepared surgical ordersets and has specifically stated to the scribe that a pre-prepared orderset be pended, this will be allowed.
