About the Team The Digital team focuses on delivering a superior customer experience on petsmart.com and our mobile app. The team also guides revenue and profit growth for the digital business. Digital team associates focus on delivering initiatives that help our pet parents find and discover products, bring enterprise priorities to life digitally, design new user experiences, build new features and capabilities, and manage key omni-channel programs. We work to showcase our brand digitally through the lens of expertise and love and to provide a personalized experience for our consumers. The team takes a data-driven approach and leverages quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize the experience and make business decisions. About the Location Collaborative Work Environment: At PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. This role is based at our Phoenix Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of four days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to one remote “flex day” (with leader approval). Our hybrid approach is designed to foster strong collaboration while also supporting flexibility and individual success. About the Job This role works in our Phoenix Home Office - visa sponsorship is not available for this role. We are seeking a technically-minded Business Analyst to support and scale PetSmart’s A/B Testing and Experimentation program. This role will focus on test campaign management, reporting & data governance, automation opportunities, and ensuring the operational excellence of our experimentation roadmap. This individual will serve as the operational and technical backbone of the testing program; translating business needs into structured test requirements, ensuring clean measurement and reporting, managing campaign execution, and identifying automation and process improvements that increase program efficiency and impact. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, comfort working with data and systems, and a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Test & Campaign Management Manage day-to-day test intake and campaign setup across web and mobile platforms Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for A/B tests, including metric requirements and tracking specifications Partner with Product, Engineering, UX, and Analytics to ensure accurate and scalable test implementation QA test configurations, targeting rules, and measurement plans prior to launch Monitor live tests, troubleshoot issues, and triage defects in partnership with technical teams Maintain documentation of test requirements, results, and implementation status Assist in pulling and validating experiment performance data in Optimizely and occasionally utilize Google Analytics to support reporting accuracy Automation & Process Optimization Identify opportunities to automate reporting, workflows, and intake processes Build and maintain reporting tools or dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.) Support integration and optimization of experimentation tools and analytics platforms Document and improve operational best practices to scale the testing program Assist in managing the experimentation backlog and roadmap hygiene Cross-Functional Partnership Serve as a key liaison between Digital Testing, Product, Marketing, and Engineering Ensure measurement and analytics requirements are included in all new test initiatives Support communication of test performance, learnings, and next-step recommendations Help foster a culture of experimentation through operational excellence and strong data stewardship KEY COMPETENCIES Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail Comfort working with structured and unstructured datasets Ability to translate business questions into technical requirements Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tests Process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to operate independently while collaborating cross-functionally EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or related quantitative field preferred 3–5+ years of experience in digital analytics, experimentation, business analysis, or similar technical role Experience in eCommerce or high-volume retail environment preferred Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments TECHNICAL SKILLS Required: Strong experience with Jira Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills Experience with digital analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, etc.) Experience with A/B testing platforms (Adobe Target, Optimizely, Monetate, LaunchDarkly, etc.) Experience writing detailed functional and technical requirements Preferred: SQL (strongly preferred) Experience querying data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.) Experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc. Basic knowledge of JavaScript/CSS for test QA and debugging Familiarity with experimentation methodology and statistical significance concepts Experience prompting AI agents such as ChatGPT to automate manual tasks Additional Job Considerations This role requires collaboration, teamwork, and face-to-face interaction with colleagues, leaders, and/or clients.
