The Senior Director, Store Experience Technology is an engineering leader responsible for shaping and delivering Foot Locker’s end-to-end in-store technology ecosystem that powers memorable, frictionless, and differentiated retail experiences across thousands of global stores. This leader owns the technology aspects of our store experience product portfolio—including point of sale, associate enablement, in-store digital, and connected store capabilities—and ensures these platforms scale reliably during peak moments while continuously evolving to meet customer and associate expectations. Responsibilities Operating within a product-oriented delivery model, this role partners closely with Product Management, Store Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Digital Commerce, and Brand partners to translate business outcomes into durable, scalable technology solutions that elevate the Foot Locker store experience. Qualifications Required Experience 12+ years of engineering leadership experience, with significant responsibility for large-scale retail store (or adjacent) technology platforms supporting hundreds or thousands of locations Proven experience leading engineering teams responsible for point-of-sale (POS) and core store systems, such as: Oracle Xstore POS (preferred) NCR, Toshiba, Aptos, or equivalent enterprise POS platforms Custom or packaged POS solutions integrated with enterprise retail stacks Hands-on leadership experience delivering and operating mission-critical store systems, including: Checkout and tender processing Pricing, promotions, and tax calculation Returns, exchanges, and omni-channel returns Receipt, fiscal, and regulatory compliance Experience engineering and supporting adjacent store platforms, such as: Inventory visibility and store inventory management systems Order management and store fulfillment (BOPIS, ship-from-store, ship-to-store) Loyalty and customer identification at POS Payments, pin pads, and EMV/contactless tender integration Strong experience operating within a product-based delivery model, partnering closely with Product Management to translate outcomes into scalable engineering solutions Demonstrated success supporting high-volume, peak-driven retail environments, including holiday, launches, and promotional events Preferred Experience Experience modernizing, scaling, or re-platforming enterprise POS and store systems across global or multi-brand retail environments Familiarity with common retail and store ecosystem technologies, such as: Order Management Systems (OMS) (e.g., Manhattan, IBM Sterling, custom OMS platforms) Merchandise, pricing, or promotions engines Workforce management or labor scheduling systems Store device ecosystems (registers, handhelds, mobile POS, kiosks) Experience with RFID in a store environment, including: RFID-enabled inventory accuracy and cycle counting Integration of RFID reads with inventory, POS, or fulfillment systems Supporting operational use cases such as shrink reduction, item lookup, or store replenishment Experience with store efficiency and tasking tools, such as: Directed pick, pack, and put-away technologies Task management or work orchestration tools for store associates Optimization of back-of-house workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and labor efficiency Experience integrating store platforms with digital commerce, loyalty, and customer data platforms Exposure to cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven architectures supporting store technology Experience working with third-party systems for payments, fraud prevention, analytics, or loss prevention At Foot Locker, we value innovation, authenticity, and integrity in all that we do. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
