Applicable only for MA & MOS positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to. Responsibilities The following duties fall under the responsibility of the Medical Assistant but are not limited to: Setting up and assisting with office procedures Chaperone providers during patient examination Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS) Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology Maintaining and stocking exam rooms ordering clinical supplies Completing FMLA and Disability forms Cleaning and resetting exam rooms Travel to satellite locations as needed Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR). Administer injections, blood draws, and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers. (on-site training provided) Perform basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing. Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers. Drug / alchol testing (training provided post hire) Physical examinations (audiogram - training provided, spirometry - training provided, and EKG's) Injury care (wound care, gait training) Requirements Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or GED Must be a certified Medical Assistant. A minimum of one year experience in healthcare.
