Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Well-Being Counselor for Secondary Level students plays a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of students. This position involves providing counseling services, implementing well-being programs, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and staff to foster a positive and supportive school environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support students' emotional, social, and psychological well-being.
  • Identifying behavioural problems and acting appropriately to remedy the situation.
  • Paying attention to societal and cultural differences in all student matters.
  • Implementing programs to support students' personal, social, and emotional development and wellbeing.
  • Provide immediate support to students in crisis and work with school leadership to ensure appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and oversee peer support programs to encourage a supportive student community.
  • Design and implement well-being programs and workshops for students.
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to identify students needing well-being support.
  • Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed.
  • In collaboration with teachers and parents, help students establish goals and develop and use planning skills.
  • Refer students and families to external support services when necessary.
  • Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data, ensuring all notes and data are stored in the appropriate folders.
  • Providing regular updated reports to Campus Principals; at least once a month. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, guidance and counseling, or another relevant discipline.
  • Possesses minimal 5 (five) years’ work experience as a Wellbeing Counselor for Secondary Level in an International school setting.

  • Excellent English skills; written and oral.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic team.
  • Working knowledge of modern and international counselling models, methods, and resources.
  • Ability to identify and respond to students' needs.
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be patient and compassionate.
  • Prominent level of integrity.
