The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science at Nanyang Technological University, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance excellence in biological and biomedical sciences. Our research spans diverse and impactful areas including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative disorders, telomere biology, and genome function. SBS is home to a vibrant, international community of scientific leaders, researchers, and professionals dedicated to innovation, discovery, and education.
We are seeking a motivated and talented Research Fellow to join the laboratory of Assistant Professor Sho Suzuki and contribute to an exciting research program in the biophysical characterization of membrane remodeling. This is an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of experts at NTU and partner institutions, and to make a meaningful contribution to our understanding of neurodegeneration.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, design, and implement independent research projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary program
Acquire and apply expertise in vitro reconstitution, live-cell imaging, and electron microscopy
Take a lead role in manuscript preparation and present research at international conferences and meetings
Co-mentor graduate students and research staff
Communicate regularly with principal investigators, collaborating colleagues, and lab members
Job Requirements
PhD qualification degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or a related field
Hands-on experience in in vitro reconstitution, live-cell imaging and electron microscopy
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
Proficiency in hard skills / job-specific abilities acquired through training e.g. specific programming languages, numeric and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a large, international team
