Job Description:

The Sr Cloud Engineer I is a motivated coder/hacker/engineer who strives to solve problems with elegant and maintainable automated solutions. To be successful in the role, the person must have a deep passion for automation and troubleshooting, and have a thorough understanding of how to bring this approach to migrating and creating workloads in Azure as well as our private cloud platform

7+ years of combined DevOps, Infrastructure Delivery and Azure Technologies

Weekend break/fix or maintenance work may occasionally be required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the Global Technology organization to design and implement our application stack in Azure

• Provide expertise on migrating existing workloads using modern technologies like containerization and Kubernetes

• Create IaC CI/CD pipelines for our public and private cloud platforms using vendor agnostic tools like TerraForm and Ansible

• Work with the DevOps and Architecture teams to create a re-usable model for cloud deployments

• Provide expertise and recommendations to all teams in technology when it comes to cloud technology

• Create and maintain quality documentation

Candidate Requirements

• Expert level knowledge of Azure technology and experience supporting cloud migrations

• Advanced understanding of Microsoft SQL servers and queries

• Experience with deploying .NET/C# and python containers in cloud environments

• Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes

• Experience with our existing core technologies:

• Splunk, GitLab, Octopus, Kubernetes, Docker, Nagios, AppDynamics, Ansible, RabbitMQ, Redis

• 15 Years of combined experience in DevOps and Cloud

• Experience using and supporting CI/CD systems

• Good understanding of object-oriented development

• Experience in working with Microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
