Job description

Maintenance Control Planner

The Maintenance Control Planner executes maintenance planning and scheduling functions under the guidance of the management team. This role focuses on coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities in support of area priorities, ensuring resources, parts, and schedules are aligned for effective execution. The Planner serves as an operational coordination hub, helping translate maintenance strategy and direction into day-to-day execution within a highly automated DC.

Responsibilities

· Support the execution of the daily and weekly maintenance plan by preparing schedules and coordinating work activities in alignment with the maintenance management team’s priorities.

· Assist with coordination and execution of PMs, corrective work, shutdowns, and reliability initiatives based on established priorities.

· Balance maintenance execution with operational throughput requirements.

· Coordinate maintenance windows with Operations leadership.

· Assist with reviewing and prioritizing work orders in the CMMS to support maintenance execution and schedule readiness.

· Support efforts to ensure work orders are properly scoped, planned, and resourced.

· Support technician work assignments based on skill level and availability

· Track schedule compliance and backlog health

· Act as the central point of coordination during breakdowns or major events

· Provide real-time coordination and information to support decision-making related to labor, parts, and maintenance priorities.

· Relay maintenance status information to Maintenance and Operations leadership, as directed by the Maintenance Area Manager and Asset Manager.

· Identify and communicate potential risks impacting uptime, safety, or service levels to support timely leadership awareness.

· Partner with the Parts Clerk to ensure materials are staged and available

· Provide visibility into labor coverage and skill mix per shift to support maintenance execution.

· Identify gaps in resources and recommend mitigations

· Analyze downtime, backlog, PM compliance, and schedule adherence

· Identify repeat failures and planning inefficiencies

· Support reliability initiatives and long-term maintenance strategies

· Drive standard work and planning discipline

This role works closely with the following teams:

· Maintenance Technicians & Leads

· Parts Coordinator

· Reliability / Asset Engineer

· Operations Leadership

· Engineering & Controls

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED

· Associates degree preferred

· 5 years of maintenance planning or control experience in automated or industrial environments

· Strong CMMS expertise and data discipline

· Solid understanding of automation systems, MHE, and maintenance workflows

· Strong communication and prioritization skills

What do you need to succeed? 

  • High school diploma or equivalent and training certifications in electro-mechanical or machining trades  

  • Minimum of 3-7 years related maintenance experience in Distribution, Machining/Millwright or Manufacturing, or 3 years experience with an Associates Degree in related trades  

Hiring Range:

$29.92 USD - $37.40 USD per hour

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
