Working under the supervision of a Principal Investigator and alongside a team of research coordinators/assistants, the CRC I assists with clinical research studies on infectious diseases, including but not limited to transplant infectious diseases, cardiac infections, viral infections, parasitic infections, and COVID-19.

The CRC will be involved in operating clinical research studies through recruiting subjects, scheduling and conducting subject visits, performing administrative tasks, corresponding with institutional review boards on protocol regulation and compliance, analyzing study data, and preparing manuscripts on study findings. With plenty of opportunities to develop a variety of skills and knowledge in clinical protocols, software for analyzing clinical data, and working with human subjects, this entry-level position is perfect for a new/recent graduate seeking a career in medicine, health sciences, public health, and/or research.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with clinical research studies as per study guidelines and protocols.
2. Recruits and evaluates potential study patients.
3. Corresponds with patients over phone or email for interviews, scheduling study visits and screening, and addressing inquiries regarding study protocol. Refers participants when appropriate to Principal Investigator or clinical staff.
4. Responsible for mailing various study information or packets to study participants.
5. Transports laboratory and tissue specimens.
6. Maintains inventory and orders office/laboratory supplies when necessary.
7. Maintains patient information database for study. Records data, analyzes data, and runs various reports.
8. Assists with preparing manuscripts on study results.
9. All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree reqquired.
• 0-1 years of experience in basic science or clinical research
• New graduates with relevant course or project work are encouraged to apply

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
1. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants.
2. Willingness to learn new skills.
3. Good oral and written communication skills.
4. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
5. Careful attention to detail.
6. Professionalism and respect for subject’s rights and individual needs.
7. Basic computer literacy.
8. Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Experience
Clinical Research or compliance experience 0-1 years.
