Job description
The Senior Business Systems Analyst bridges business goals and technology solutions within a complex, integrated environment. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, QA, and business stakeholders to translate needs into clear, actionable system and technical requirements.
You’ll play a key role in enabling scalable, reliable, and customer-focused solutions—helping teams deliver high-quality outcomes incrementally while shaping how platforms and processes evolve.
Position Responsibilities:
Business & Systems Analysis
Lead business and systems analysis for medium to large initiatives across multiple applications, systems, and integrations.
Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements with clarity, completeness, and traceability.
Translate business objectives into user stories and technical stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
Conduct impact analysis to assess downstream effects across systems, data flows, and integrations.
Document process flows, business rules, data requirements, and high-level system behaviors.
Agile Delivery & Execution
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Partner with Product Owners to refine and prioritize the backlog to support incremental delivery.
Collaborate with developers and testers throughout the sprint lifecycle to clarify requirements and support successful implementation.
Support demos, functional testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, Product, and technology teams.
Facilitate discussions to uncover needs, resolve ambiguity, and align on desired outcomes.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure solutions align with design standards and technical direction.
Support informed decision-making by balancing priorities, scope, and delivery considerations.
Quality, Production Support & Continuous Improvement
Support UAT activities, defect triage, and validation of results.
Assist with analyzing production issues by identifying root causes and recommending solutions.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and ways of working.
Required Qualifications:
Extensive experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or in a similar role.
Proven experience working within large, integrated technology environments.
Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and collaborative team models.
Ability to analyze complex problems, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with APIs, databases, data flows, or digital platforms.
Familiarity with systems integration and process modeling (e.g., BPMN).
Experience in regulated industries such as insurance or financial services.
Exposure to data analysis or system behavior modeling.

Salary range is expected to be between
$113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
