Not RequiredAs a Mechanical Engineer II for the Collins Aerospace Inserts group, you will be part of an international team of engineers responsible for innovating, designing, and maintaining designs of various galley equipment such as ovens, beverage makers, chillers, and refrigerators. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will perform standard engineering assignments in support of a large project or change package. This position requires out of the box thinking by applying engineering principles to solve issues either on the design/ process side to ensure production stability of various galley insert products.
What You Will Do:
Apply standard techniques involving innovations of methodology to provide solutions to problems involving multiple variables.
Verify regulatory compliance of designs by analytical methods or testing prototypes.
Solve design issues and verify solutions through analysis and test
Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.
Operate in a team environment, coordinating with other functional areas such as software, electrical, and manufacturing to providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.
Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, apply sound judgment to solve problems, and drive work to completion with a disciplined, results-oriented mindset.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Proven experience analyzing and interpreting data sets using Excel or similar tools
Mechanical engineering experience within a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, medical, automotive)
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with heating and cooling solutions
3D modeling and 2D drawing preparation, revision, and release using NX Unigraphics
Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability
Understanding of engineering processes and IT tools.
Understanding of electronics

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
