The Department is looking for a skillful, self-motivated and high-caliber candidate who is capable of providing technical support to fill the position of Technical Officer in the Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory.

The ideal candidate is expected to:

• Possess background knowledge of the working principles of major Geotechnical Engineering equipment and have prior hands-on experiences in their operation;

• Support faculty members and researchers in procuring lab equipment, consumables and services, and update the equipment inventory list periodically;

• Provide trainings to researchers on the appropriate use of lab equipment;

• Support Department to plan and perform teaching laboratory courses and student activities;

• Maintain the safety and a good working environment of the Geotechnical Engineering Lab through daily inspections and cooperation with the Safety Office;

• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline, preferably with at least one year’s post qualification experience. Besides, they should be good team players and have a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
