Responsibilities
Delegates, under minimal supervision, tasks to members of the project team to actualize scope of work and execution plans for electrical design and engineering projects and assess progress.
Ensures completion of project tasks to the estimated effort and duration and communicates completeness, schedule conflicts, and resource needs to project manager.
Defines front-level scope of technical problems, design conflicts, risks, and testing issues.
Confers with the project liaison in collaborating with other departments in the organization to optimize project outcomes.
Ensures timely and accurate completion of project documentation, including process improvements.
Manages quality control in compliance with organizational production and design standards.
Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
BS in Elecrical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
MSE in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.
Typically requires advanced post education and extensive experience.
Required:
Typically requires 6 - 8 years of experience with BS or equivalent, 4 - 6 years with MS or Ph.D. with 2 - 4 years of experience.
Success in leading project team from concept through introduction according to project plan.
Exceptional creative design and problem-solving ability.
Strong organizational and project management skills and is results oriented.
Positive interpersonal skills and professional interactions with coworkers.
Troubleshooting skills.
Ability to deliver oral and written communications around process improvement projects is required.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Mini-tab, and Visio, are required.
Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field.
Knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures.
Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public.
Excellent communication and interaction skills, especially when describing technical concepts to surgeons, sales personnel, and senior management.
Maintains a high level of professionalism in communication, both with local and international peers.
Highly recognized by peers as an experienced and professional engineer.
Must be able to work independently, provide multiple solutions to problems, and make systems work together. Well organized, self-motivated, energetic, creative, resourceful, insightful, personable, and articulate.
You have strong leadership: resilient, tenacious, and persistent, and assertive influencing and collaboration/teaming skills. Proven change management skills (Change Integration Process) are required.
Must be willing to support global projects and to travel.
Must be willing to support 2nd and 3rd shifts.
May be responsible for the supervision of Engineering Technicians or Interns.
Participates in the hiring process for Engineering Technicians and Interns.
Preferred:
Six-Sigma Black Belt and Lean certifications.
FPx and/or Project Management certifications.
An organized, analytical approach to problem solving is also essential. Some familiarity with FDA, GMP, and ISO requirements.
