What We Offer Novant Health Ballantyne Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant! Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM The clinic remains open until 6:00 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays Team members who are interested in staying later on those days have the opportunity to do so To coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population. What You'll Do Job responsibilities: Room patients efficiently, obtain vital signs, and document medical history. Administer vaccines according to clinical guidelines and maintain accurate immunization records. Learn and utilize the Epic electronic medical record system for documentation and workflow management. Perform capillary blood sticks for glucose checks and other point‑of‑care needs. Conduct point‑of‑care laboratory testing What We're Looking For Education : High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required. Experience : Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.
