Job Title- Lead SQL Developer Position type- Full Time Work Location- Bangalore Working style- Hybrid Shift Time- 12PM to 9PM People Manager role: No Required education and certifications critical for the role- -BTech in computer science or related quantitative field, or equivalent experience. What will your day look like. Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, views, and ETL processes. Lead end-to-end data solution design, including data modelling, integration patterns, and performance/scalability considerations. Architect and implement database solutions on Azure using services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and related components. Optimize and tune SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations for high performance and reliability. Implement and maintain data security, backup/recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery strategies. Collaborate with architects, application developers, BI/analytics teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical database designs. Review and enforce development standards, best practices, and code quality for SQL and data solutions. Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes. Contribute to capacity planning, monitoring, and continuous improvement of database and data platform capabilities. Mentor and guide junior developers, conducting code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions. Skills and experience that will lead to success. 12+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server development and database design. Expert-level proficiency with T-SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views). Strong experience in logical and physical data modelling (OLTP and/or OLAP), normalization/denormalization, indexing strategies, and partitioning. Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure, including: Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance Azure Data Factory (pipelines, datasets, integration runtimes) Azure Storage (Blob, Data Lake) and related services Solid understanding of performance tuning, query optimization, and database profiling tools. Experience with ETL/ELT processes and integrating data from multiple sources. Good understanding of security, compliance, and governance in database and cloud environments (encryption, access control, roles, secrets management). Experience with source control and CI/CD for database changes (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, pipelines). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred/Good-to-Have Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or other advanced analytics platforms. Exposure to Power BI or other reporting/visualization tools. Knowledge of NoSQL / non-relational data stores on Azure (e.g., Cosmos DB). Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
