The Principal Clinical Research Scientist (Global) plays a key role in shaping and driving the clinical evidence strategy for Radiometer’s diagnostic portfolio. The position is responsible for the scientific leadership, design, and interpretation of global clinical studies supporting the development, regulatory approval, and lifecycle management of new medical products.
This is a senior, high-impact role requiring strong scientific judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across functions and external stakeholders. The role combines hands-on scientific contribution with leadership through collaboration rather than direct people management.
One will be reporting to the Director of Clinical Science and will be a part of the Clinical Development department within the Danaher Diagnostics Clinical Center of Excellence (CCOE).
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide scientific and strategic leadership for the design and execution of multiple global clinical studies within Blood Gas and Immunoassays, including Point of Care (POC) diagnostics
Act as clinical science representative on New Product Development and Core Teams, contributing to clinical development strategies, design control decisions, and product lifecycle planning
Lead the development of clinical study concepts and protocols, ensuring scientific rigor and compliance with GCP, FDA, IVDR, and other applicable regulations
Serve as scientific owner and author of clinical study reports, and provide expert support for regulatory submissions and interactions with regulatory bodies
Critically review, interpret, and synthesize clinical data to support sound scientific conclusions and decision‑making
Establish and maintain strong collaborations with key investigators, KOLs and KEEs, supporting scientific publications, abstracts, and conference presentations
Represent Radiometer in scientific, clinical, and regulatory forums as a trusted clinical expert
The essential requirements of the job include:
Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related discipline with 7+ years of relevant clinical research experience, or a Doctoral degree with 5+ years of experience
Strong experience with clinical evidence generation for EU and/or US markets, preferably within diagnostics, medical devices, or pharmaceutical development
Solid understanding of clinical study design, execution, and interpretation, including regulatory and scientific expectations
Experience contributing to FDA regulatory interactions and negotiations related to clinical evidence, including participation in regulatory discussions, responses to questions, and support during submissions
Demonstrated ability to solve complex scientific challenges and translate clinical data into clear, meaningful insights
High level of proficiency in scientific writing, critical data review, and interpretation of clinical study results
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional and external stakeholders in a global matrix organization
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
IVD, preferably Blood Gas systems
