Release Manager

THE POSITION:

We are looking for an experienced Release Manager to oversee and coordinate software releases across multiple teams and environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in release management processes, hands-on experience using Jira, and proven experience working closely with software development or product development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage end-to-end software releases across multiple projects
• Work closely with software development and product teams to ensure smooth release cycles
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders
• Define and maintain release calendars and ensure alignment across teams
• Track release progress, risks, and dependencies using Jira
• Ensure all release deliverables meet quality standards and timelines
• Manage release documentation, including release notes and deployment plans
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and bottlenecks in the release cycle
• Facilitate go/no-go meetings and ensure stakeholder sign-offs
• Drive continuous improvement in release management processes and tools
• Ensure compliance with change management and governance standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Release Management or similar role
• Proven experience working closely with software development or product development teams
• Strong hands-on experience with Jira (dashboards, workflows, reporting)
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Experience managing releases in complex, multi-team environments
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously
• Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tools like Confluence, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
• Knowledge of ITIL or change management frameworks
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Certification in Agile/Scrum (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) is a plus
