Job description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Planner to support the planning, design, and development of clinic spaces. This role is responsible for space planning, preparing construction documents, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring clinic signage and graphics meet company, landlord, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable managing projects with minimal supervision. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, design planning, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Space Planning and Building Construction Documentation
- Develop initial space plans for review and approval.
- Ensure space plans comply with local regulatory requirements and standards governing physical, occupational, and hand therapy practices.
- Prepare construction documents after all required approvals are obtained.
- Coordinate with the Construction Manager to engage and work with local contractors as needed.
- Review stamped construction drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support cost-effective project delivery through efficient design, documentation, and pricing strategies.
- Communicate with contractors regarding project plans and make informed decisions as necessary.
Clinic Signage and Graphics
- Create and maintain emergency evacuation plan signage for all clinics.
- Ensure all signage and graphics comply with USPh requirements.
- Verify that signage and graphics meet landlord specifications and local sign ordinances.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide organization-wide updates on project status as they become available.
- Attend Development Team meetings as needed and report on construction progress.
- Assist with additional projects and tasks for the Development Team as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong familiarity with construction planning, building systems, construction processes, and code compliance.
- Basic construction knowledge required.
- Experience with CAD software (Visio experience is a plus).
- Experience with space planning and layout development.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively when challenges arise.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Architectural or interior design training, or related design/construction education, strongly preferred.
