Title: Software Engineer Internship- Summer 2026 About the Job: Come put your coding experience to use and work alongside a team of best in class software engineers! As a Vbrick Software Engineer Intern, you will be a member of our software Agile team and perform tasks associated with the software development life cycle including design, development, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance. Gain experience with new technologies and and put your previous experience to work while getting real- world technology experience. The candidate should be located in the Greater Washington, DC area and be able to work in the office 1-2 days per week. What you'll do:
- Work on cloud-based enterprise software platform
- Gain hands-on coding experience with modern programming languages and databases
- Help build scalable, interactive web applications using client-side technologies and microservices-based backend systems
- Assist in developing and integrating AI-powered features
- Gain experience writing automated test cases and improving code quality
- Contribute to software documentation and technical specifications
- Participate in software design discussions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, UI/UX and engineering teams What you'll need:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Solid knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#)
- Understanding of databases – SQL and/or NoSQL
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts (e.g., NLP, LLMs)
- Exposure to AI tools or platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar)
- Basic understanding of prompt engineering and practical use of AI in development workflows
- Interest in building AI-powered features or automating workflows using AI
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Familiarity with modern web architecture, distributed systems, and RESTful services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience
