We are seeking a Senior Financial Data Analyst to join our team. It is highly preferred that the candidate is located in the New York City Metro area.
Background
The Engineering Department’s Operations Division – Engineering Financial Services (EFS) provides technical services that prepare and manage the Department’s budget, overtime, and financial performance, ensure compliance with consultant payments, and maintain records.
This position will support the Budget team. Review and analyze monthly the department’s financial performance; help prepare the annual budget for the Capital, Operating and overhead funded programs; prepare and coordinate monthly the department’s consultant accruals by verifying supporting documentation related to the Purchase Order; analyze month end postings for accuracy and financial variances; prepare and submit charge code reclassifications; research and prepare ad hoc project data reports; validate adherence to charge code guidelines for all construction and consultant expenditures; prepare and track the department’s deferred projects and corresponding amortization schedules.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in complex financial analysis and reporting, budget forecasting and data analysis within a large organization
- Proficiency in PC applications (Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to SharePoint, Lists, etc.)
- Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros/VBA, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience using SAP financial modules, Peoplesoft, Oracle Essbase and Hyperion with SmartView software applications
- Ability to reconcile financial data
- Ability to work with large datasets
- Knowledge of GASB accounting principles
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience working independently
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
