Job description
Position: Principal Data Engineer with architecture and MS Fabric/Azure experience.

Our client is a global investment management organization with a long history of independent research and diversified strategies across fixed income and equities. The firm serves institutional and mutual fund clients and emphasizes security selection driven by proprietary analysis and collaboration between portfolio managers and analysts.

Rate: $80.00 to $100.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and implementation of a CRM-sourced data mart to support Power BI.
- Define and implement star schemas and relational database structures.
- Design and build ETL processes and data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and related services.
- Establish and enforce data architecture and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide hands-on code delivery while coaching team members on modern data practices.
- Lay groundwork for an enterprise data warehouse and position the roadmap for future initiatives. Experience Requirements
- Extensive experience with Microsoft data technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse.
- 10+ years of experience in star schema design and relational modeling.
- 8 years of experience designing and operating ETL processes and production data pipelines.
- Experience integrating datasets for Power BI and applying visualization-aligned data modeling practices.
- Ability to lead projects independently from conception through delivery.
- Strong communication skills partnering with business and technical teams.
- Familiarity with data lake and warehouse concepts including SQL, Delta, and Parquet.
- Experience with Databricks (preferred).
- Understanding of CRM systems and sales data structures (preferred).
- Financial data modeling and knowledge of securities, instruments, and portfolios (preferred).
- Ability to work remotely aligned to East Coast business hours. #J-18808-Ljbffr
