Job description

Hi, we’re Speks, a Brooklyn-based design company creating premium sensory products for teens and adults. We sell globally across wholesale, retail, and DTC, and we’re growing fast.

We’re hiring a Production & Quality Manager to drive quality control and compliance across our production. This role sits at the center of factories, inspections, and retailer requirements.

This is not an entry-level operations role. You should already have real experience running QC, working with factories, and managing product compliance.

What You’ll Own

Quality Control

  • Own QC execution across factories and production runs
  • Manage third-party inspections and factory QC processes
  • Review reports, catch issues early, and escalate when needed
  • Drive corrective actions and ensure issues do not repeat
  • Maintain consistent quality standards across products and vendors

Compliance

  • Own day-to-day compliance across products, retailers, and markets
  • Ensure products meet testing, labeling, and packaging requirements
  • Manage documentation across SKUs including test reports and certifications
  • Support retailer compliance requirements for accounts like Walmart and Target
  • Stay ahead of issues that could lead to delays, chargebacks, or rejections

Production Execution

  • Keep production on track across multiple factories and SKUs
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to hit timelines
  • Identify risks early and push for solutions before they impact shipments

Key Accounts and Global Support

  • Support production for major retail accounts with strict requirements
  • Ensure orders meet account-specific standards and timelines
  • Coordinate compliance and production needs for global distributors
  • Help maintain consistency across markets

Vendor Management

  • Work directly with factories, primarily in China
  • Push for clear communication, accountability, and follow-through
  • Ensure vendors meet quality and compliance expectations

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8+ years in production, quality control, or supply chain within consumer products
  • Strong hands-on experience with QC, inspections, and factory coordination
  • Solid understanding of compliance, testing, labeling, and packaging requirements
  • Experience supporting major retail accounts like Walmart or Target
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers, especially in China
  • You have owned QC or compliance in a real production environment, not just supported it
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Clear and direct communicator
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

Who You Are

  • You hold a high bar for quality and do not let issues slide
  • You are proactive and solve problems before they escalate
  • You are comfortable pushing factories and partners to meet expectations
  • You take ownership and follow through

Why This Role

  • You will have real responsibility over quality and compliance across the business
  • Small team, fast pace, real product, global reach
  • In-office team based in DUMBO, Brooklyn
