Job Overview Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Ultrasound Technologist to join our imaging department at our Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is for a casual position that will work as needed by the department. There are day/evening/night/weekend shifts available! *If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. *If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 11pm – 7am, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $8.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. Southdale offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients. The position in the Ultrasound department would offer imaging care to in-patients, out-patients, emergent patients, as well as supporting cases in the OR. The technologists work collaboratively within the Imaging team and amongst varying levels of clinical practitioners. The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient exam ordered. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all the members of the health care team. Responsibilities Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner. Verifies patient identification and documentation Reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure. Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional. Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol. Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam Recognizes structures visualized and understands their significance. Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols. Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists.
