Field Agronomist

Main responsibilities:

Experimental work:

• Designation of Corteva Crop Solutions HUN Kft. GEP-certified experiments
• Maintaining up-to-date records of experimental, reference and maintenance materials
• Measuring experimental and reference materials required for spraying
• Accurately measuring the amount of water required for spraying according to the instructions of the experimenter.
• spraying the experimental plots
• assembly, calibration and disassembly of backpack and bicycle small-plot sprayers
• mixing the spray solution (mixing the experimental material and water)
• unloading and loading from the transport vehicle (water boxes, sprayer) liquidation of experimental plots (collecting boards, stakes and sticks), systematization of the collected boards
• examination of the quantitative and qualitative parameters of the harvested experimental samples (e.g. germination)
• collection of weed seeds based on the instructions of the development engineers
• maintenance and repair of small-plot sprayers used in the experimental work
• filling the compressed air cylinders of the small-plot sprayers and regular maintenance and repair of the compressor used for filling

Experimental Station:

• In the rented areas belonging to the Experimental Station of Corteva Crop Solutions HUN Kft., agrotechnical, plant care, plant protection and harvesting work:
  • manual weeding and hoeing according to the work flow description
  • building a fence around the experiments according to the work flow description
  • active participation in harvesting work (harvesting with a plot combine, sampling, transporting samples, bagging crops, baling, bale wrapping, etc.)
  • plant sampling
  • carrying out maintenance plant protection spraying
  • carrying out other plant care work
• Regular maintenance and repair of the Experimental Station's power plants and machines, keeping the necessary tools in order and purchasing spare parts, maintaining contact with the service network
• Carrying out soil preparation and sowing work with power plants or by hand based on consultation with the site manager
• carrying out welding work according to the work flow description
• Direct management, supervision and review of the technicians of the Szeged Experimental Station
• Prepare, review and update relevant work process descriptions if necessary

Safety regulations:

• Use the work and protective equipment required by the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Corteva Crop Solutions HUN Kft. during work
• Use the work process descriptions and regulations applicable to the Corteva Crop Solutions HUN Kft. Szeged Experimental Station during work
• Participate in fire and accident prevention training and apply the materials of these lectures during work
• Conduct occupational safety training for seasonal workers in the absence of the field manager
• Teach relevant work process descriptions to field technicians

Requirements:

• Technical or university education in agriculture or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in similar responsibilities
• English fluency will be an advantage
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Team worker who can also work independently
• Leadership and team building skills
