Overview The Nurse Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to support professional nursing practice and ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is accountable for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of systems that advance nursing excellence, align with organizational goals, and support a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Maintains 24-hour accountability for unit operations, staffing, and patient outcomes. Leads initiatives that elevate clinical practice, enhance patient satisfaction, and promote evidence-based care delivery. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for daily unit operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care Drive strategic planning and execution of nursing initiatives aligned with organizational goals and nursing vision Lead, coach, and develop nursing staff to foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional growth Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies Monitor and improve patient outcomes through data analysis, quality improvement (CQI), and performance metrics Manage staffing models, scheduling, and resource allocation based on patient acuity and care trends Oversee departmental budget, productivity, and cost management initiatives Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and continuous clinical education Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care delivery and experience Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) required Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida National nursing board certification in specialty area required (or obtained within agreed timeframe) Minimum of five (5) years of professional nursing experience Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical or hospital setting Preferred Qualifications Prior Nurse Manager or leadership experience in an acute care environment Strong knowledge of: Nursing care delivery models Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes Healthcare systems and operations Budgeting and financial management Core Competencies Leadership & Team Development Strategic Thinking & Execution Clinical Excellence & Patient Safety Operational & Financial Management Communication & Collaboration Change Management & Innovation Why This Role Matters As a Nurse Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of nursing practice within the organization—driving excellence in patient care while empowering nurses to practice autonomously, advocate for patients, and innovate in a dynamic healthcare environment.
