Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Klingerstown, Pennyslvania known for their ice cream socials at Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, fishing rodeo, and fireman's parade. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for consistently following all Safety Work Rules and reinforcing Safety as a Core Value. The role ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety and Quality are followed uniformly to reduce product and process variability. The primary purpose of the Loader position is to supply the machines with flats of shell eggs, ensuring production never runs out of product. Three loaders work together to keep the lines supplied. Loaders must be able to lift and carry six flats of eggs at a time (approximately 20–30 lbs) safely and efficiently to maintain production flow. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Follow all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety into all tasks. Ensure regulatory compliance at all times. Continuously supply the optiloader conveyors with flats of shell eggs, lifting six flats at a time from a nearby skid. Remove and stack dividers or skid sheets from between flats of eggs and place them in the designated area. Remove and stack empty skids in the designated area. Remove empty flats from the optiloader machine and stack them appropriately. Supply candlers with flats of fill‑in eggs. Assist in monitoring the optiloader machine and help clear jams when needed. Follow safe work practices, GMPs, and HACCP guidelines; maintain sanitary conditions; and ensure product quality to support SQF certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may negatively impact food safety, product quality, or personnel safety. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating and interacting effectively with customers, clients, co‑workers, and management. Follow all Quality work practices, maintain sanitary conditions, and report any concerns affecting food safety or quality. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED No prior experience or training required. Ability to read a limited number of two‑ and three‑syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations. Ability to lift and move empty skids weighing up to 50 lbs safely. Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification . PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS Ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, turn, and carry approximately 20–30 lbs (six flats of eggs). Ability to follow verbal instructions. Ability to work indoors in a wet, humid environment. Ability to travel stairs. Ability to work well with others and function as a team player. Valid driver’s license. Ability to follow GMPs and Safety regulations for the area. Ability to wear required PPE, including bump cap, earplugs, and steel‑toe boots. Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
